RENEW AFRICA / WHY CATHOLIC teaches us more about our faith and the teachings of the Catholic church. We read scripture and have discussions and each session asks us to live our faith practically.
What we are about
Renew Africa / Why Catholic consists of groups, which are called Small Christian Communities (SCC). Each (SCC) has a facilitator who heads the group. There are seasons, which comprises of about 6 sessions each. There are 2 seasons per year. We meet once a week at the church or at a designated home. Each group comprises of about 5 to 12 people. Every session lasts about 90 minutes, which includes a 30-minute social.
Currently we are busy with an in between season called Live Lent. This session runs for six weeks on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
We have an annual pilgrimage / retreat to Magaliesburg which coincides with the school holidays.
