Parish Priest

Father Jorge Armando Guerra is a member of the Congregation Missionaries of St. Charles Scalabrinians that work with migrants and refugees in 32 countries around the world.  He was born in the small town, San Felipe, Guanajuato, Mexico. His parents were staunch Catholics and instilled in him good Catholic teachings which laid the foundation for him to become a Priest. He is the fifth child out of seven.

Father Jorge joined the Seminary in 1998 and excelled in his studies. He was ordained a Deacon in 2009 and on 14 August, 2010 was ordained a Priest after completing his studies in Theology in Rome, Italy. From 2010 to 2015 he worked as the Vocation Director for his Religious Congregation.

Simultaneously he spent 3 years as Chaplain of Sailors – Seafarers in Cape Town and assisting the different communities of migrants. In 2014 he was appointed as a parish vicar at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, La Rochelle, and on 01 August, 2017 he took over as Priest in Charge. His hobbies include singing and dancing.
