Fr. Gabriel Martin cs was born in Bogota, Colombia. From a family of five members. In 2004 he entered into the congregation of Missionaries of Saint Charles, better known as Scalabrinias. He studied philosophy in his own city at the Franciscans’ University of San Buenaventura. In 2010 he was send to Manila, Philippines to continue his studies of theology at the Jesuits’ University of Ateneo de Manila. In order to gain more pastoral experience, in 2014 he was sent to Tokyo, Japan for two years, to serve migrants from South America.
He was ordained on the 14 May 2016, his first assignment as priest was in Rome, Italy. For the first two years, he was Vicar in the Parish Santísimo Redentore. Then, for five years, he was nominated as Chaplain to assist all Latin-Americans in the dioceses of Pope Francis. On January 15 of 2024, he was appointed to collaborate in the mission of Johannesburg, South Africa at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, serving the English, Portuguese and French communities.
