Who is Fr Jorge
Father Jorge Armando Guerra is a member of the Congregation Missionaries of St. Charles Scalabrinians that works with migrants and refugees in 32 countries around the world. He was born in a small town San Felipe, Guanajuato, Mexico. His parents were staunch Catholics and instilled in him good Catholic teachings which laid the foundation for him to become a Priest. He is the fifth child out of seven. Father Jorge joined the Seminary in 1998 and excelled in his studies. He was ordained a Deacon in 2009 and on 14 August, 2010 was ordained a Priest after completing his studies in Theology in Rome, Italy. From 2010 to 2015 he worked as the Vocation Director for his Religious Congregation. Simultaneously he spent 3 years as Chaplain of Sailors – Seafarers in Cape Town and assisting the different communities of migrants. In 2014 he was appointed as a parish vicar at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, La Rochelle, and on 01 August, 2017 he took over as Priest in Charge. His hobbies include singing and dancing.
