Missionary Month Oct 2019

Mission Month

Pope Francis has asked us as Baptised and Sent missionary Evangelists to ensure that October 2019 will be a Mission Month that will be memorable for all those whose lives we touch.  Pope Francis stated: “I have asked that the whole Church revive her missionary awareness and commitment”

In preparation for the Extraordinary Mission Month in October, we have combined Catechetical month together with Missionary Awareness around the World. We are called to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with all peoples.

At St Patrick’s, La Rochelle we are planning:

  • Each Group in our parish has been asked to reach out and evangelise to a community or group NOT within our parish or Catholic circle during the month of October.
  • On 29 September Our Lady of Fatima, South Hills and St Patrick’s, La Rochelle will be doing a Marian walk in which each Parish will pray the Rosary while walking towards a common meeting point.
  • Rosary during the month of October, 2019 at 17h00
  • On the 12 October there will be a procession on the streets of La Rochelle for Our Lady of the Rosary, so as to expose our faith to others.
  • On the 13 October, Parishioners will be given stickers to hand out to their neighbours and other community members.
  • The Catechists are taking the Catechism children to the Anglican St Mary’s children’s Home, where there is a four hour programme planned.
  • On the 20 October, the Youth will be praying the Rosary at Wemmer Pan Lake.
  • On the 25 October, the Missionaries of Saint Charles Borromeo will give a talk on the mission work they are doing around the world and in our country/city.

Join us for the Rosary every day in October at 17:00PM
